Gómez Noya to take honorary kick-off for Villarreal-Getafe match

The triathlete Javier Gómez Noya  will kick off the match between Villarreal and  Getafe on Sunday 23 November at 21.00, the twelfth week of the Spanish Liga.

The four-time world triathlon champion will receive an ovation from the Yellow supporters, invited by his only Spanish sponsor, Pamesa Cerámica, which is also the Submarine’s main sponsor.

Just back from a break in United States, Gómez Noya will take to the field of El Madrigal stadium after completing a season full of sporting success.

A brilliant season

Outstanding among the sporting awards granted to the 31-year old is the Sports Council’s (CSD) National Sports Award the for best sportsperson of 2013, the Felipe de Borbón Award, given to the Galician triathlete in recognition of a successful career which includes four victories in the Triathlon World Championships following his silver medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games. This award is added to the Marca Legend Award given by the Spanish sports newspaper Marca. All this recognition comes at the close of an extraordinary season: in the Panama Half Ironman 70.3, in the World Series, the Ironman World Championships, Beijing and Barcelona. “This has been the best season of my life”, said Gómez Noya.
